| About Dartmouth |

Whatever time of year you choose to come and visit, there’s
always plenty to do in and around the town: river trips to Totnes,
steam railway rides; walks; beaches to relax on - including the
award-winning Blackpool Sands with its great beachfront café,
or others surrounded by rockpools to explore and perfect for your
most ambitious sandcastle yet!
When you’re tired of the outdoors, you can browse the galleries
and specialist shops in the town, or try the many excellent restaurants.
You could try catching your own on a sea fishing trip –
or try and beat our current crab-fishing record (987 – off
the pontoon at Dittisham, all returned to the river unscathed).
The Music and Fishing Festivals and Royal Regatta pull in the
crowds, and the town is transformed at New Year into a carnival
when everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) sports fancy dress!
